Our history starts in Northeastern Greece and in particular in the small city of Komotini, where people faithfull to traditions started to produce and bottle ouzo in rudimentary facilities. For years, the following generations continued the production in family distilleries supplying the entire region with extra quality products. Founded in 1977, Today…The Distillery-Winery of Thrace S.A. is one of the largest businesses in Greece producing Ouzo and Tsipouro, with a production of 9,500,000 bottles of 0.7 l. yearly, and is among the leaders in the field of exports. Drawing on our history, on the attachment to our job, on the respect for our customers and on the devotion to our family traditions, we continue to distil and contemplate our future with optimism and great assurance.

The distillery at West Cork is very unique in that most of the mashing, fermentation & distilling equipment was handcrafted on site by the team at WCD. No other distillery work force can be so knowledgeable and intimately married to its equipment. WCD has several notable ways-of-working which all contribute to making the finest quality spirits, but first and foremast WCD is the most southerly located distillery on the Atlantic Archipelago which provides a unique meso-thermal microclimate for which West Cork is famous and which is ideal for the maturation of Irish whiskey.

The Borders Distillery®, the first Scotch Whisky distillery in the Scottish Borders since 1837, was commissioned in March of 2018. This new distillery is dedicated to making great whisky and to capturing the spirit of the Borders.
Our hometown, Hawick, has a famous history of manufacturing, where cashmere is king and where tweed was invented. The distillery is in a landmark building in the centre of town, making us both familiar and new. There is a spirit of industry and enterprise here that inspires us in all that we do.
